Ankara, June 5, 2026 – The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) announced that no bids were received for the tender to lease the amusement park section of Ankapark. The tender, which took place yesterday, June 4, 2026, aimed to lease 41 amusement units for a period of one year.

Tender for Ankapark’s Amusement Area Yields No Participants

The tender for the amusement area, consisting of 41 amusement units within Ankapark, was brought to the agenda at the Municipal Council Meeting held in the Council Hall. Despite prior announcements, no participation was recorded by the 12:00 PM deadline, leading to the decision that the tender would not proceed.

According to the tender announcement published in the Official Gazette, the amusement area, comprising 41 units, was to be leased for one year through a closed bidding procedure. The estimated annual rent for the tender, which included the 41 amusement units and the entire amusement park area, was set at 9,360,000 TL + VAT.

High Requirements and Financial Commitments

Prospective bidders were required to deposit a temporary collateral amount of 280,800 TL. A significant condition for participation was that bidders must have operated amusement parks or theme parks within the last five years prior to the tender announcement date.

Interested parties were required to submit their bid letters and necessary documents to the ABB Council Presidency by 12:00 PM on June 4, the day of the tender. However, the lack of any submitted bids resulted in the tender being declared unsuccessful.

Uncertainty Surrounds Future of Ankapark

The failure of the tender raises questions about the future of Ankapark’s amusement section. It remains unclear whether a new tender will be organized and what steps the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality will take next to address the situation.

Ankapark, a large theme park located in Ankara, has faced various challenges since its opening. The lack of interest in leasing its amusement section further complicates its operational future.

Previous Attempts and Ongoing Debates

This is not the first time Ankapark has been at the center of public debate regarding its management and sustainability. The park has been a subject of discussion due to its high construction costs and subsequent operational difficulties.

The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has been exploring different avenues to ensure the park’s viability and to make it a functional attraction for residents and tourists. The latest failed tender underscores the ongoing challenges in achieving this goal.

What’s Next for Ankapark?

The municipality has not yet released an official statement regarding its next course of action. Speculation is rife about potential revisions to the tender conditions, a reduction in the lease price, or alternative management strategies for the amusement park.

Local residents and stakeholders are keenly awaiting further announcements from the ABB regarding the future of Ankapark and its iconic amusement rides. The park’s fate remains a significant topic of interest in Ankara.
