Ankara, April 24 – Painter Nazende Yücel’s “Yediveren Kadınlar” (Ever-Blooming Women) exhibition has opened to visitors in the capital. The exhibition, hosted at the Tuğrul Velidedeoğlu Art Gallery, showcases 28 works by the artist, exploring themes of female identity and societal roles.

Yücel’s Unique Style and Focus on Women

In a statement to Anadolu Agency regarding the exhibition, Yücel noted that she has developed a unique style over time, centering the female figure in her works. She explained that the division of women between their homes, work, and children is not a fragmentation but rather a complete unification and wholeness. In this wholeness, women stand tall with their vibrant beauty.

Yücel stated that she deliberately omits faces in her female figures to represent all women from the past to the future. In contrast, the backgrounds of her paintings feature realistic elements and objects.

“Women are like flowers”

Explaining the reason for naming her exhibition “Yediveren Kadınlar,” Yücel said: “Women are like flowers. Like ever-blooming flowers, women can integrate and continuously bloom even after being plucked or broken. Women are mothers who give birth to children, wives, sisters, and daughters. Therefore, I also refer to their societal identity. I believe that women need to be strong. It is women who will make the world a more beautiful place. Children, in the hands of a strong mother, can take on a completely different form, like a sculptor. I attach great importance to this aspect of women in society.”

Yücel mentioned that “Yediveren Kadınlar” is her 12th exhibition, and her paintings have been exhibited in many countries.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until May 2nd.
