🚨 Pink Truck, Fierce Mom! Sema Can is Europe’s Favorite Trucker! You WON’T Believe Her Story! πŸ’–πŸšš

Okay, buckle up, because this isn’t your average road trip! We’re talking about Sema Can, a 42-year-old supermom of four, who’s not just driving a truck – she’s driving a PINK truck all over Europe! And trust us, people are losing their minds (in a good way!).

What’s the BIG Deal?

Sema, a mom to kids aged 21, 17, 8, and 6, decided to take the wheel after her textile business hit a rough patch. Inspired by her dad and brother, who are also truckers, she traded fabrics for freight and hasn’t looked back! For five years now, she’s been an international truck driver, hauling goods from Istanbul to pretty much everywhere in Europe – think England, Germany, Holland, you name it!

“This is a very valuable and precious profession to me,” Sema told us. “Any woman with courage, self-belief, and self-confidence, who, like me, is trying to be both a mother and a father to four children and keep up with everything, can do this. I believe all our women who find that strength within themselves can do it.” πŸ™Œ

Family Drama & Major Support! πŸ₯Ί

So, how do her kids feel about mom being a road warrior? Sema only gets to see them every 2.5 months, but they’re her biggest cheerleaders! Her mom steps in to help when Sema’s on the road. “My children told me, ‘Mom, yes, you can do it, we’re behind you. There will be longing, we’ll be without a mother, you won’t be home, but we’re behind you. If this is your dream or your goal, we’re behind you,’ and I got their support,” she shared. How sweet is that?! 😭

But get this – her own family initially thought she was crazy! “Even though my father is a truck driver, and my brother too, no one in the family supported me becoming a truck driver. They said, ‘It’s a man’s job, what’s a woman doing in a truck?'” Sema revealed. Talk about breaking stereotypes! πŸ’₯

The Pink Truck Phenomenon! πŸ’–

It’s not just her incredible story that’s turning heads. It’s her truck! It’s bright PINK! 🀩

“When they see a Turkish woman truck driver in Europe, they’re surprised. They congratulate me, they’re happy. Especially our expatriates, when they see us, they honk their horns like crazy!” Sema said. Imagine driving down the highway and seeing a vibrant pink truck with a total boss lady behind the wheel! We’d honk too! πŸ“£

She explained that the pink color isn’t just for fun: “The truck doesn’t belong to me, it’s our company’s vehicle, I’m the driver. By making the vehicles colorful like this, it attracts more attention from children, and actually, I think the aim is to make people love this profession.” Genius! πŸ‘

Life on the Road: Not Always Easy! πŸ›£οΈ

Being a truck driver isn’t all pink trucks and honks of appreciation. Sema admits the hardest part is being away from her kids. “The difficulties of being a truck driver; I am away from my children, my loved ones, my home. Unfortunately, there is no social life whatsoever. The only difficulty of this profession, in my opinion, is the longing for children, the yearning for offspring. I don’t think there are any other difficulties.”

Safety is also a big concern, especially when parking in unfamiliar areas in Europe. “We prefer to sleep in safe parks because sometimes, unfortunately, we can have problems because we don’t know their languages,” she explained.

Haters Gonna Hate, But Sema Shines! ✨

While most of her male colleagues are super supportive, cheering her on and saying they’re proud, some still throw shade. “A very small portion says, ‘What are you doing here? Wouldn’t it be better if you looked after your children at home?'” Sema shared. But she’s not letting it get to her. “I’m raising four children, they’re all in school. I have to work. I need to hold on to something. Because they don’t know that story, phrases like ‘Wash dishes, do laundry at home’ can sometimes be annoying, but we won’t pay attention, we will continue to stand strong.” YOU GO, GIRL! πŸ’ͺ

Other truck drivers are totally on her side! Mehmet Δ°nce, another truck driver, said: “First of all, I congratulate her courage. They always say, ‘It’s very difficult, it can’t be done.’ In my opinion, the most difficult part of the profession is to be patient and learn to miss. Other than that, anyone who is careful and determined can do it. There is no such thing as a woman, a man, short, good, strong in this profession.” And Ahmet Tiroz added: “I think it’s excellent for women to be truck drivers. They do their jobs well. They are at least less aggressive than men. They are more respectful of rules, more tolerant. Being in this profession is an advantage for them, a disadvantage for us, but we support it.” Love to see the support! ❀️

What’s Next for Sema?

Sema’s kids aren’t planning on following in her footsteps (yet!), but she hopes her story inspires other women. “I want my children to do this profession. In my opinion, it is a very valuable and precious profession. Not all of them can do this profession, but any woman who has courage, self-belief, self-confidence, who, like me, is trying to be both a mother and a father to four children and keep up with everything, can do it. I believe all our women who find that strength within themselves can do it,” she declared. “Be strong. Stand on your own two feet, don’t be dependent on anyone. I advise them to be strong. I want all women to do this profession. Strong women, strong tomorrows, I think.”
