ISTANBUL – Beşiktaş has announced its squad for the 16th week Süper Lig match against Trabzonspor, to be played away from home. The highly anticipated match will take place tomorrow evening at Papara Park Stadium, kicking off at 8:00 PM, and will be officiated by Ali Şansalan.
Key Absences and Squad Decisions
Among the notable absences for Beşiktaş are Jota Silva and Cengiz Ünder, who both sustained injuries last week. Additionally, Mustafa Hekimoğlu, a long-term injured player, will also miss the encounter.
Rafa Silva Excluded from Squad
A significant development is the exclusion of Rafa Silva from the Trabzonspor match squad. Following the Fenerbahçe match, Rafa Silva had cited an injury and subsequently abstained from training sessions. This period led to a prolonged crisis, with the player reportedly expressing desires to quit football or leave the team. Although the Portuguese player resumed training last week before the Gaziantep match, he was not included in that squad. Technical director Sergen Yalçın has now confirmed his exclusion from the Trabzonspor squad as well. It has been learned that the primary reason for Rafa Silva’s exclusion is his lack of sufficient training.
Sergen Yalçın Considers Two Squad Options
The simultaneous injuries to Jota and Cengiz have compelled Beşiktaş coach Sergen Yalçın to explore alternative squad compositions. The experienced coach is reportedly considering two distinct lineup options for the away fixture in the Black Sea region.
The first option features a midfield comprising Ndidi, Orkun, and Cerny, with an attacking line of Rashica, El-Bilal Toure, and Abraham. The second option involves fielding a third central midfielder alongside Ndidi and Orkun, while maintaining Cerny, El-Bilal Toure, and Abraham in the attacking positions.
Beşiktaş’s probable starting eleven is anticipated to be: Ersin, Gökhan, Paulista, Emirhan, Rıdvan, Ndidi, Orkun, Cerny, Rashica, El-Bilal Toure, Abraham.
The team will be looking to secure a crucial victory against Trabzonspor as they navigate these player absences and tactical adjustments.
