Istanbul, June 20 – A chain-reaction accident involving four vehicles occurred in Istanbul’s Kağıthane district on Friday afternoon when a parked car rolled down a slope. The incident, which took place in the Hamidiye neighborhood, Ferman Street, Yağmur Street, resulted in significant material damage but fortunately no casualties.
Details of the Accident
According to initial reports, the accident happened around 2:00 PM. A 34 EV 7047 plate vehicle, which was parked on a sloped road, began to roll downhill. The runaway car first collided with a pick-up truck and then crashed into two other automobiles before coming to a stop.
Upon notification, police, fire, and ambulance teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. Emergency services confirmed that there were no fatalities or injuries. However, all four vehicles involved sustained material damage. Footage captured at the scene showed the driver of the runaway vehicle sitting on the sidewalk, visibly upset after the incident.
Investigation Underway
Law enforcement officials conducted an on-site investigation and recorded the details of the accident. A comprehensive inquiry has been launched to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.
