Search and rescue operations intensified at dawn at the crash site of a special jet carrying Libyan Chief of General Staff General Muhammed Ali Al-Haddad, four accompanying individuals, and three crew members. The Falcon 50 type jet, which took off from Esenboğa Airport yesterday evening, reported an ’emergency’ due to an electrical malfunction to air traffic control and requested an ’emergency landing’ before crashing in an empty field in Kesikkavak village, Haymana district.
Intense Search and Rescue Efforts Underway
Upon notification, security forces were dispatched to the area and reached the wreckage. Search and rescue efforts, which continued throughout the night despite heavy rain and fog, accelerated with the first light of day.
Gendarmerie teams have secured the crash site, preventing civilians from entering the area. Due to the muddy terrain, tracked ambulances have been dispatched to the region.
Officials are monitoring the operations from a mobile coordination center established by AFAD. In addition, four public prosecutors assigned by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office are participating in the investigation.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya is also expected to inspect the crash site.
