Ankara, March 13 – Three suspects, including the ex-wife and son of businessman Ramazan Arıkan, who was found dead in his ex-wife’s home, have been arrested as part of the investigation into his death.
Investigation Launched After Discovery of Body
According to the investigation initiated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Ramazan Arıkan was found dead on November 16, 2025, at the residence of his ex-wife, S.S. The Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie Command’s Public Order Branch Directorate immediately launched a comprehensive investigation.
Forensic Report Reveals Substances in Victim’s Body
A forensic report dated January 14, 2026, revealed that an autopsy found “xylazine” (a sedative used for animals that can cause cardiac arrest in high doses in humans) and “Gabapentin” (a drug used in epilepsy treatment) in the victim’s body.
CCTV Footage Details Arıkan’s Last Hours
Teams examining the building’s security camera footage determined that Arıkan was brought to the house by his son, B.A., and M.Ü. around 8:09 PM on the day of the incident. During this time, the victim appeared to be struggling to stand. It was also noted that his daughter, H.S.A., entered the building an hour later and shortly thereafter arrived at the residence of the victim’s ex-wife, S.S.
Subsequently, suspects S.S., M.Ü., and B.A. were seen leaving the building together. Immediately after, his daughter, H.S.A., called the 112 Emergency Call Center, and an ambulance arrived at the address at 10:11 PM.
Three Suspects Arrested, One Released on Judicial Control
Following instructions from the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, M.Ü. and the victim’s son, B.A., were apprehended in an operation by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams and subsequently arrested on March 10.
Based on the suspects’ statements, the victim’s ex-wife, S.S., was taken into custody today and also arrested. His daughter, H.S.A., was released under judicial control.
Ongoing Investigation into the Cause of Death
The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances and cause of Ramazan Arıkan’s death. Authorities are continuing to gather evidence and conduct interviews to shed full light on the incident.
