Tragic Accident on Northern Marmara Highway Claims Three Lives
Istanbul, June 11 – A devastating traffic accident on the Northern Marmara Highway in Çekmeköy, Istanbul, has resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including an infant. The incident, which occurred around 6:00 AM, involved a light commercial vehicle colliding with the rear of a moving truck.
According to initial reports, the light commercial vehicle, driven by Yunus K., crashed into the truck from behind with significant force. The impact left the commercial vehicle severely damaged, resembling a wreck. Tragically, the driver, Yunus K., and two passengers, one of whom was a baby, died at the scene.
Emergency Services Respond to the Scene
Following the collision, a large number of gendarmerie, fire, and health teams were dispatched to the Reşadiye area of the Northern Marmara Highway. Firefighters immediately began efforts to extricate the trapped individuals from the wreckage. Despite their swift response, all three occupants of the light commercial vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
After being removed from the vehicle, the bodies of the deceased were transported by ambulance to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy procedures. The gendarmerie teams secured the highway and initiated a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
