ISTANBUL, May 21 – Turkish cuisine is being showcased at Istanbul Airport’s International Terminal as part of Turkish Cuisine Week. Local and international passengers at the IGA Lounge are being treated to a variety of Anatolian delicacies.
A Taste of Anatolia at Istanbul Airport
The tasting stand, set up by TUM and TRU, companies that provide food and beverage services within the airport operator IGA’s terminal, offers passengers a selection of traditional Turkish dishes. These include keşkek, içli köfte, hummus, olive oil stuffed vine leaves, baklava, and tahini halva, all reflecting the authentic flavors of Turkish culinary heritage.
“A Heritage on One Table” Event Continues
The tasting events, organized under the theme “A Heritage on One Table,” will continue until May 27th. This initiative aims to introduce the diverse and rich traditions of Turkish gastronomy to a wider audience, including transit passengers and those arriving in or departing from Istanbul.
Boosting Culinary Tourism
The event highlights the importance of Turkish cuisine as a cultural ambassador and a significant draw for culinary tourism. By offering these traditional tastes at a major international hub like Istanbul Airport, the organizers aim to create a memorable experience for travelers and encourage them to explore more of Turkey’s gastronomic offerings.
The promotion of Turkish cuisine at such a prominent location is expected to contribute positively to Turkey’s image as a top tourist destination, known not only for its historical and natural beauty but also for its delicious and varied food culture.
