Warehouse Fire in Esenler, Istanbul, Spreads to Three Buildings and a Roof
Istanbul, June 1, 2026 – A fire that started in a warehouse in Esenler, Istanbul, and subsequently spread to the exterior of three adjacent buildings and a roof, has been successfully extinguished by firefighting teams.
The incident occurred in a warehouse located on Gaye Street in Atışalanı Mahallesi, which contained yarn rolls and scrap materials. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
Rapid Response to the Blaze
The fire rapidly intensified, with flames quickly engulfing the warehouse and then spreading to the external facades of three neighboring buildings and one roof. Upon receiving reports from citizens, fire, police, and health teams were immediately dispatched to the area.
Police units promptly secured the perimeter with tape, establishing a safety zone around the affected area. Firefighters then commenced operations to bring the blaze under control.
Significant Damage to Warehouse and Buildings
After a concerted effort, the fire was successfully extinguished by the fire department. However, the warehouse has been rendered unusable due to the extensive damage. The exterior walls of the three adjacent buildings and the affected roof also sustained considerable damage.
