Online Feud Leads to Armed Confrontation in Ankara’s Sincan District
Ankara, February 2nd – A simmering online dispute between two groups in the Sincan district of Ankara culminated in an armed street fight yesterday evening. The altercation, which thankfully resulted in no injuries, saw a vehicle struck by bullets. Police quickly intervened, detaining four suspects and seizing firearms.
The incident occurred around 7:45 PM in the Akşemsettin area of Plevne Mahallesi. According to initial reports, the two groups, who had a pre-existing rivalry, began exchanging insults and threats on social media platforms. As the online confrontation intensified, the parties agreed to meet near Kosova Street, where the verbal dispute quickly turned into a physical altercation.
Gunfire Erupts, Vehicle Hit
During the melee, several suspects reportedly opened fire with weapons they had brought to the scene. While no individuals were harmed, a vehicle in the vicinity was hit by a bullet. The sound of gunfire prompted concerned citizens to alert authorities.
Sincan District Police Department teams swiftly responded to the scene. Officers quickly identified and apprehended four individuals suspected of involvement in the fight: F.A., İ.Ç., M.Ç., and Ö.S. A search of the suspects yielded two unlicensed pistols and one pump-action shotgun, which were confiscated by the police.
Investigation Underway, Suspects Await Court Appearance
The four detained suspects are currently undergoing questioning at the police station. Following the completion of their interrogation and other legal procedures, they are expected to be transferred to the courthouse. The Sincan District Police Department has launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident to determine the full circumstances surrounding the armed clash.
