Four Injured in Sariyer Slum Fire, Istanbul
Istanbul, March 20 – A fire that erupted in two slums in the Sariyer district of Istanbul resulted in injuries to four individuals, including a mother and her two children. The incident occurred in the Büyükdere Mahallesi Kuşburnu Çıkmazı Street.
The fire, which started for an unknown reason in one of the slums, quickly grew and engulfed the entire house before spreading to an adjacent slum. Upon notification, fire, police, and health teams were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Difficulties in Intervention Due to Narrow Streets
The mother and her two children, who were trapped inside the burning house, were rescued with the help of police teams and bystanders. However, emergency services faced significant challenges in extinguishing the blaze due to the steep and narrow streets in the area.
Firefighting efforts continued for approximately two hours before the fire was brought under control and completely extinguished.
Injured Taken to Hospital
The injured mother, her two children, and one other person were transported to the hospital by ambulances. Additionally, two individuals affected by smoke inhalation received immediate medical attention from ambulances stationed at the scene.
