Nesma Airlines to Commence Direct Istanbul-Cairo Flights

Istanbul, May 8 – Nesma Airlines has announced the initiation of a new direct flight route connecting Cairo International Airport (CAI) with Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW). This strategic expansion, set to begin on May 22, will feature three flights per week, aiming to meet growing demand and strengthen bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Turkey.

Strategic Expansion Amidst Growing Demand

Mohamed El Sherif, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Nesma Airlines, highlighted the significance of this new route. “This strategic move is a direct consequence of the accelerating travel demand between Egypt and Turkey, coinciding with positive developments in Egypt-Turkey relations,” El Sherif stated. He further added, “This route aligns with the strengthening of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, particularly in tourism, trade, and investment, offering seamless travel opportunities for both business and leisure travelers while deepening economic exchange.”

Future Expansion Plans for Turkish Market

El Sherif also indicated that the launch of the Cairo-Istanbul route is merely an initial step in solidifying Nesma Airlines’ presence in the Turkish market. “We are evaluating flights to other airports in Turkey to respond to the continuously growing demand in both the Egyptian and Turkish markets,” he explained. “We remain committed to providing our passengers with broader and more flexible travel options.”

Full-Service Offering and Fleet Growth

Nesma Airlines confirmed that the new route will operate under a ‘full service’ concept, ensuring the highest standards of comfort and quality for passengers throughout their journey. This new service launch coincides with the airline’s significant fleet expansion. In recent months, Nesma Airlines has added more than five new aircraft to its fleet, diversifying with highly efficient Airbus A320 and A321 models. The company aims to achieve a total fleet of 13 aircraft by the end of 2026, underscoring its ambitious growth plans to meet passenger demand and provide the necessary operational flexibility and seat capacity for the expanding market.

Booking Information

Flights for the new route are scheduled to commence on May 22. Passengers can purchase their tickets through Nesma Airlines’ official website or via authorized travel agencies.
