16-Year-Old Suspect with 40 Criminal Records Apprehended in Istanbul Robbery Operation
Istanbul, May 14 – Six suspects, including two minors, have been detained in Istanbul’s Avcılar district following a series of robbery incidents. The arrests were made during an operation targeting individuals involved in home, business, and car thefts that occurred between April and the first week of May. Notably, a 16-year-old suspect, identified only as H.K., was discovered to have an astounding 40 prior criminal records.
The Avcılar District Police Department initiated an investigation to apprehend the suspects responsible for three business robberies, one car theft, and two home robberies within the district. Through meticulous examination, the identities of six individuals believed to be involved in these crimes were established.
Six Individuals Taken into Custody
Police teams conducted a series of operations, leading to the arrests of the following individuals:
- G.Ç. (21): Apprehended in connection with a home robbery that occurred on April 29 in Mustafa Kemal Paşa Neighborhood.
- N.A. (45), H.T. (20), and C.D. (24): Detained for allegedly committing open thefts from businesses in Firuzköy Neighborhood.
- H.K. (16) and E.U. (15): Arrested in connection with a car theft that took place on May 8 in Yeşilkent Neighborhood.
- K.O.: Accused of stealing approximately 52,000 Turkish Liras worth of materials from a friend’s warehouse on May 1, where he was staying after claiming to have no place to live.
Following their processing at the police station, all six suspects were transferred to the courthouse. Further details emerged regarding the 16-year-old H.K., who was involved in the car theft. It was revealed that H.K. has a staggering 40 criminal records, highlighting a significant and concerning history of delinquency.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of the Istanbul police to combat crime and ensure public safety within the city.
