The AK Party Ankara Provincial Directorate carried out extensive field activities during Ramadan, reaching a wide segment of the capital’s population. Led by Provincial Chairman Hakan Han Özcan, these efforts included visits to approximately 160,000 households and direct contact with 518,000 citizens as part of the “Ak Elçi” and “Gönülden Gönüle” (From Heart to Heart) projects.

Extensive Outreach Across Ankara

Throughout Ramadan, teams comprising around 50 individuals went into the field daily in different districts, divided into three groups, to conduct household visits. These “From Heart to Heart Ankara” programs, simultaneously carried out in 9 metropolitan districts with the participation of provincial management and district organizations, provided a platform to listen to citizens’ demands.

A core field team of 2,172 people, including main branches, women’s branches, youth branches, and commission members, participated in activities across all districts of the city. At the neighborhood level, 1,772 neighborhood heads actively coordinated local efforts.

Community Building and Support Initiatives

To strengthen social solidarity, 1,079 iftar programs were organized across the city, hosting 22,000 people. Thousands of Ankara residents attended special thematic iftars for orphans, martyrs’ relatives, disabled individuals, and teachers. Additionally, 10 suhoor programs were held, sharing the blessings of the pre-dawn meal with 2,032 people.

As part of the Ramadan activities, nearly 10,000 hot meals were distributed. Social aid included 70,000 food packages and 83,010 aid vouchers delivered to those in need. Furthermore, 6,000 households received monetary support.

The AK Party Youth Branches, through their “5 Minutes to Iftar” and “5 Minutes to Suhoor” programs, provided refreshments to companions in hospitals, on-duty staff, and those who could not make it to suhoor. During visits to Ankara’s 25 districts, greetings from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan were conveyed to citizens.

Support for Vulnerable Groups and International Solidarity

The Provincial Organization carried out 6,086 visits to the elderly, 3,447 visits to disabled individuals, and 2,815 visits to orphaned and fatherless children during Ramadan. Moreover, 1,351 martyrs’ relatives and veteran families were visited in their homes throughout the month, conveying the message of state and organizational support.

In terms of international activities, approximately 1,800 people were reached at iftar tables set up in Gonder, Ethiopia, demonstrating an example of international solidarity. At the end of Ramadan, 3,752 people received Eid clothing support to ensure children and those in need could celebrate the holiday with smiles. In addition to social aid, 689 medical support items were provided to citizens with health issues.

AK Party Chairman Hakan Han Özcan’s Statement

In a statement, AK Party Provincial Chairman Hakan Han Özcan emphasized their commitment to the nation during Ramadan, visiting door-to-door. Özcan highlighted their efforts to listen to citizens’ concerns and strive to resolve their problems, stating, “We worked with all our might to convey the greetings of our President in every district, in every household.” He extended his gratitude to all organization members who contributed to this effort.

Underlining their deep connection to Ankara, Özcan added: “Through our iftar programs, household visits, and artisan gatherings, we have built strong bridges of affection with our fellow citizens in Ankara. Today, the joy of Ramadan is experienced in the most beautiful way in our schools and on our streets. Of course, there will be those who are bothered by this. We will continue to bother them by keeping our nation’s values alive.”

Özcan reflected on past struggles, saying, “In the past, when we studied in Imam Hatip schools, we faced severe insults. We fought against mentalities that went so far as to lay hands on our headscarved sisters. However, we have come a long way since those days. If we can live these values freely and loudly today, it is thanks to the great efforts and resolute stance of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. May Allah be pleased with him.”

Özcan pointed out that they are grateful to have a leader who is the guarantor of Turkey’s peace and security in such a turbulent period in the world. He also expressed pride in following a leader who is the hope of the oppressed people of the world. Özcan stated that they would continue to work as “Ak Elçi” in every household and street, and that they would lead President Erdoğan to victory again in all provinces with the highest vote percentages.
