Anadolu Highway Ankara-Istanbul Direction to Close for Maintenance

Ankara, June 2, 2026 – The Ankara-Istanbul direction of the Anadolu Highway, between the Muallimköy and Gebze junctions, will be completely closed to traffic starting tomorrow, June 2, 2026, at 08:00 AM. This closure is necessary for ongoing superstructure repair and renovation works. Traffic flow will be redirected to the D-100 highway and the Northern Marmara Highway.

Extensive Repair Works Underway

The superstructure improvement and major repair construction works are continuing on the Anadolu Highway between the Gebze Junction and the Dilovası Junction. As part of this project, the northern carriageway of the highway between the Muallimköy Junction and the Gebze Junction will undergo comprehensive superstructure repair and renovation.

Traffic Diversions and Alternative Routes

During the closure, vehicles traveling in the Ankara-Istanbul direction will be diverted from the Muallimköy Junction to the D-100 highway and the Northern Marmara Highway. Entry points to the Istanbul direction of the Anadolu Highway from the D-100 highway and the Northern Marmara Highway at the Muallimköy Junction will also be closed. Vehicles intending to proceed in this direction can use the D-100 highway or make a U-turn from the underpass before the Bilişim Vadisi Junction.

Furthermore, at the Muallimköy Junction, the connecting ramps from the Osmangazi Bridge direction to both the Istanbul and Ankara directions of the Anadolu Highway will be closed. These vehicles will be able to reach the Istanbul and Ankara directions via the D-100 highway.

Work Schedule and Duration

The repair works are scheduled to commence tomorrow, June 2, 2026, at 08:00 AM, and will proceed on a 24-hour basis. The specific duration of the closure was not provided in the initial announcement, but such extensive works typically require a significant period for completion.
