Ankara, July 1 – As Ankara prepares to host the NATO Summit on July 7-8, local barbers are making extensive preparations to ensure a warm and professional welcome for international delegates. These efforts include heightened hygiene standards, a specific dress code, and traditional Turkish hospitality.

Enhanced Hygiene and Professional Attire

Sezayi Kara, President of the Ankara Barbers Chamber of Tradesmen and Artisans, stated that hygiene standards in barber shops have been significantly increased in anticipation of the summit. Barbers will also be dressed in white shirts and fabric trousers to present a professional image.

“The 36th NATO Summit being held in our capital, Ankara, makes us very happy. In this context, our state dignitaries and bureaucrats will come to our capital. As the Barbers’ Chamber and the barbers in Ankara, we were already paying attention to hygiene conditions to host all our guests, but from now on, we will attach even more importance to it. We will pay attention to hygiene conditions, and we will design our clothing as white shirts and black trousers. Because a head of state can visit our barbers at any moment, so we have to be prepared,” Kara said.

Kara emphasized the importance of representing Ankara and Turkish hospitality appropriately. “We want to host our guests in a manner befitting our barbers and our capital. We will offer cologne and sweets to our guests coming from abroad. Because these are part of our hospitality. We will host our state dignitaries in a beautiful way, befitting our capital, and send them off from here.”

Traditional Turkish Hospitality for International Guests

Barber Ahmet Narin echoed these sentiments, highlighting the intention to showcase Turkish hospitality through traditional offerings. “By wearing white shirts and black trousers, and by offering sweets and cologne to our guests, we will demonstrate our Turkish hospitality in this way. We are ready to do our best by paying more attention to hygiene conditions. I wish the NATO summit to be beneficial for our country,” Narin stated.

The initiative aims to leave a lasting positive impression on the international visitors attending the high-profile summit, reflecting Ankara’s commitment to excellent service and cultural warmth.
