Ankara, May 14 – A new initiative aimed at empowering women and boosting their participation in the workforce is set to begin in Ankara. The “H.O.P.E. in Action” project, supported by the Swedish Government and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with Çankaya Municipality, will offer free barista training to women.

Free Barista Training to Boost Female Employment in Ankara

The program, announced yesterday, targets women aged 18 to 35 and aims to equip them with professional skills for the modern coffee industry. This initiative seeks to not only provide vocational training but also to foster personal development, enabling women to achieve economic independence and play a more active role in society.

According to ANKA news agency, the project will contribute to the qualified workforce in the modern coffee sector. The comprehensive training combines professional education with personal growth, aiming to strengthen women’s economic autonomy and social engagement.

Comprehensive Development Process

The training sessions will be held at the 100th Year Business and Employment Training Center, operated by Çankaya Municipality. Expert trainers will conduct practical lessons, covering essential and advanced barista skills such as various coffee types, brewing techniques, professional equipment usage, and service presentation.

Beyond technical skills, the program will also provide support in career planning, communication skills, and personal development. These specialized modules are designed to offer a holistic development process, empowering women socially and economically.

Limited Enrollment and Employment Support

The training program is entirely free and open to women between the ages of 18 and 35. Due to limited capacity, interested candidates are encouraged to apply promptly. Successful participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the course and will be provided with support during their employment processes.

This project is seen as a significant social responsibility effort that encourages women to acquire new professions and contributes to female employment in Ankara. Applications can be made through the municipality’s website or at the Çankaya Municipality Business and Employment Center.

The initiative highlights the commitment of the Swedish Government, UNDP, and Çankaya Municipality to creating opportunities for women and strengthening their role in the economy and society.
