Istanbul, May 8 – Istanbul Esenyurt University hosted its 3rd annual Communication Awards ceremony, celebrating achievements in the fields of communication and art. The ceremony, held in the university’s conference hall, presented awards in 19 different categories, all determined by the votes of Istanbul Esenyurt University students. Notable attendees included significant names from the art world such as Atilla Olgaç, Meral Çetinkaya, Grup Gündoğarken members Burhan Şeşen and Gökhan Şeşen, and Umut Oğuz.

“We Host Very Valuable and Famous Guests at Our University”

Pınar Öztarkan Özyurt, Head of the Visual-Audio Techniques and Media Production Department at Istanbul Esenyurt University, expressed her pride in the event. “We are proud to host the third edition of our Communication Awards Ceremony, which has become a tradition every year. As in previous years, we are welcoming very valuable and famous guests to our school. The most important feature of these guests is that they are chosen from among the most loved, watched, and voted for by our students. Therefore, our students eagerly await meeting them months in advance. Sharing this excitement is a great pleasure for us. Realizing the ceremony day is both very exciting and a source of immense happiness for us. “Being Crowned for My Work as a News Reporter Fills Me with Pride”

İbrahim Konar, Kanal D News Reporter, who received the ‘Best News Reporter of the Year’ award, shared his thoughts. “Receiving an award at such important ceremonies in universities is truly a great honor. These are very special organizations that motivate us in our profession, crown our work, and bring us this pride. I came to Istanbul Esenyurt University two years ago for a talk on earthquakes. It truly has a very special structure that closely follows the agenda; discusses developments and events in a university setting with a scientific perspective, and brings students together with industry representatives. This award ceremony was also very beautiful and enjoyable. Many expert, valuable names participated in the ceremony. As journalists, we frequently come to Esenyurt and bring the developments here to the agenda. With the positive contributions of the university, I hope that negative and criminal events will soon be left behind. Because Esenyurt actually has a very different face. I wish that the beautiful developments here would be featured more on screens. I hope that with Istanbul Esenyurt University, a stronger formation will be achieved, and the beauties of the district will reach wider audiences. Many respected names from the art, society, science, and politics worlds are present at the award ceremony. Receiving an award alongside them at such an important ceremony is truly precious to me. Being crowned for my work as a news reporter in this way fills me with pride. I hope that by doing better work and with more qualified news, we will continue this journey in the best possible way.”

“All Our Struggle is for the Youth; Everything is for Them”

Yasemin Akıncılar Minguzzi, who received the ‘Mother of the Year’ award, said, “I am very happy that they invited us. We have been fighting to be with children and young people from the very beginning. This makes us even happier. I thank them very much. The award ceremony will, of course, be very exciting. All our struggle is for the youth; everything is for them.”

“We are Fighting for All the Youth of Turkey”

Ayşenur Afyon, selected as the ‘Best Social Media Manager of the Year’, also commented, “Today, my sister and I are here at the Communication Awards ceremony. This is very valuable to us. First of all, we thank Esenyurt University, its students, and its Rector. The reason we are here is to explain the process of making our voice heard in Turkey after the unfortunate event we experienced, to help people understand it, and to contribute to it finding a response in public opinion. Afterwards, we believe that we created a significant impact with the victim families we supported through social media. We believe we were able to create awareness. This is very valuable to us. We are fighting for our own children and all the youth of Turkey, especially Ahmet. We thank everyone who sees and appreciates this value and is always with us.”

“I Try to Make Young People Laugh and Chat with Them”

Actor Umut Oğuz, the winner of the ‘Best Male Actor of the Year’ award, stated, “I have been receiving my awards from young people for a long time. Everywhere I go, I try to communicate with children and young people. I am someone who likes to share my experiences. Last semester, I also taught at the university and received very good feedback. This was very important to me. They said, ‘Teacher, we loved your class; you taught us a lot about life.’ In fact, I learned a lot from them too. There is an important point that our generation misses: when you cut off communication with young people and children, your connection to life is also seriously severed. I actually come to refresh that bond. I try to make young people laugh and chat with them.”

Esra Sönmezler, who attended the ceremony as the ‘Best Talk Show Host of the Year’, also said, “Regardless of whether one is young or old, being appreciated by any institution or person is truly an honor. Receiving an award from such a beautiful university, from valuable students, academics, and Rectors, is a great honor for me.”

Actress İpek Karapınar, chosen as the ‘Best Female Actor of the Year’, expressed, “I am very excited. From the moment I received the news until I came here, I can say I haven’t been able to stand still for days. Being deemed worthy of this award by valuable teachers and students is a great pleasure and honor for me. Thank them.”
